Bachelorette Party in Cartagena: a 3-Day Plan

CASA BUGÓ ARSENAL Hotel Boutique

Rooftop sunset drinks, Getsemaní at night and a yacht to the Rosario Islands

Group dinner at Casa Bugó Arsenal in Getsemaní, Cartagena

Cartagena is one of the favourite destinations for bachelorette and bachelor parties: the sea, colourful streets, great food and long nights. If your group stays in Getsemaní, everything is within walking distance. This is the plan we suggest to groups celebrating at Casa Bugó Arsenal.

Day 1 · Arrival and sunset drinks

  • Afternoon: arrive, enjoy the pool and rest. Getsemaní's streets are perfect for the group's first photos: murals, umbrellas and balconies full of flowers.
  • Sunset: pre-drinks on the rooftop terrace, with the sky turning orange over the city.
  • Night: dinner for the whole group (at the house with a private chef or at a restaurant in the neighbourhood), then salsa in Getsemaní.

Day 2 · Sea and yacht

  • Day: a yacht or catamaran to the Rosario Islands or Barú: clear water, music, a seafood lunch and plenty of photos.
  • Night: a relaxed dinner and a walk through the Walled City, a few minutes away on foot.

Day 3 · Long breakfast and goodbye

Breakfast together, one last swim in the pool and home.

Tips to organise your group

  • Book early: from December to April and on long weekends, large houses fill up first.
  • One person coordinates: dates, payments and the guest list, with one contact at the hotel.
  • Keep everyone together: a whole house means the group isn't split across floors or buildings.
  • Sunscreen and water: the Caribbean sun is strong, especially on the yacht day.
  • Getting back at night: stay together and take a taxi.

Your celebration at Casa Bugó Arsenal

Known for its lively streets, colorful murals, and a unique blend of history and modernity, Getsemaní offers an authentic experience that captivates both locals and travelers alike. A Rich History Once home to Cartagena’s working class, Getsemaní has played a crucial role in the city's history. During the struggle for independence from Spain, this neighborhood was the heart of Cartagena's resistance. The sense of pride and resilience is still palpable today, woven into the very fabric of the community. Walking through the streets of Getsemaní, you can feel the spirit of the past while being part of the neighborhood's vibrant present. Street Art and Culture One of the first things you’ll notice about Getsemaní is the incredible street art that lines its narrow, winding streets. Local and international artists have transformed the walls of the neighborhood into a living canvas, reflecting the area's deep sense of identity and its connection to Cartagena’s past. These colorful murals tell stories of love, struggle, and community, offering a visual narrative that’s impossible to ignore. As you explore, you’ll encounter Plaza de la Trinidad, a bustling square where locals and tourists gather to enjoy live music, street performances, and food vendors offering delicious local treats. It’s the perfect spot to soak in the energy of Getsemaní while enjoying some of the best arepas and empanadas in town. Whether you’re dining at a family-run eatery or a high-end restaurant, the cuisine in Getsemaní is a reflection of its diverse community. You’ll find fresh seafood dishes, savory street food, and an array of unique cocktails served at trendy bars throughout the neighborhood. The Perfect Balance of Old and New What makes Getsemaní truly special is its ability to balance old-world charm with a modern, artistic vibe. While the area has experienced a resurgence in recent years, with new hotels, galleries, and bars opening up, it has retained its original character. You can still wander down colonial-era streets, explore historic churches, and enjoy the warm hospitality that Cartagena is known for. Exploring Getsemaní One of the best ways to experience Getsemaní is simply by walking through its streets. You’ll discover hidden gems like local galleries, boutique shops, and cafes tucked away in colorful alleys. If you’re looking to venture a bit further, Getsemaní’s central location makes it easy to explore other parts of Cartagena, including the Historic Center and Castillo de San Felipe.
